New Forest Golf Course
⛳ Course Overview
The course stretches to 6,928 yards from the back tees and offers a beautifully balanced test of golf: four par 5s, ten par 4s and four par 3s. Water guards two holes, while strategic hazards feature throughout, rewarding accuracy, smart course management, and confident iron play.
🏌️ Notable Holes & Challenges
Two of the sternest challenges arrive early and late on the front nine — the 4th and 12th — both 450-yard par 4s and the lowest index holes on the card, each posing a very different examination of your game.
Signature Hole: Par 3 9th
Sits within the estate’s historic walled garden. It may be the shortest hole on the course, but it’s a memorable moment and a welcome pause before heading into our own version of Amen Corner.
Holes 10 to 13 are where rounds can quickly take shape — or slip away.
Scoring opportunities do exist: the short par-4 3rd, and the reachable par-5 5th and 17th invite an aggressive line, while the long par-3 11th and 16th remind you that sometimes a solid bogey is a victory.
🏆 Tournament History
New Forest has proudly hosted numerous major Golf Ireland events over the years — a testament to the course’s quality, conditioning, and reputation.
The most recent national championship, the 2019 Irish Boys, enjoyed perfect June weather and earned widespread praise for both the layout and the facilities.
